Abysmal, wonderful, unbelievable; not only for the scientists but also for an ordinary person, the universe is always a matter of unquenchable curiosity. We can use trillions of words to define the vastness of the universe but surprisingly these words do not have the capability to provide us a satisfying answer. With the advent of new technologies; astronomers across the globe are trying to explore the hidden mysteries of universe – even though we have not explored the 0.00000000001 part of the universe.
My personal curiosity was to know the universe and that encouraged me to watch a documentary series on National Geographic Channel. That series was giving me answers of my every question. The most astonishing episode of that series was related to the theories associated with the creation of universe, in which one theory suggested that when two universe strikes with each other, the real form of our universe originated. It shocked me completely. According to those theories, there are plenty of universe i.e. MULTIVERSE is the new term for this whole existence. Trillion of Universe – unbelievable!!
As a student we learnt in our school that universe is the consequence of big bang which throw the matter in every direction with indefinable force and after millions of years, those matter was developed into galaxies, planets and other extra terrestrial bodies. First assault of that series was on my academic knowledge – but all my respectable teachers; I am not going to raise any finger on you because I can understand.
At the same time while watching the documentary, I came across some spiritual literature related to Indian Saint Tradition. I read these lines –
“shabad niwas aakash bani, yeh satguru ka roop hai”
(Thy presence in the sound and thy speech is in abysmal sky, this is the form of my lord
These lines from Garibdas – disciple of Saint Kabir suggests the existence of sound at the very base of the matter. Now contrast appears; Universe is a vacuum and sound is an elastic wave which doesn’t propagate through vacuum then how scientifically we believe that sound is the base. I do not know the answer but I cannot ignore this point also.
Various saints of India wrote about the universe, its vastness and spiritual importance of extra terrestrial particles and strangely those saints knew all about that not through the huge and expensive telescopic eyes but through their complete immersion into self through meditation. They wrote that the outer world is just the projection of our inner world thus no need to explore outside.
I found that spiritual literature, written many centuries before, is confirming the assertions put forth by scientists about the existence of multiple universes.
“Avigat nagari be anuman hai, anant koti brahmand uske ek ek rum mein sama rahe hai”
(Land of my lord is beyond limit, uncountable universes are present in the lords every pore)
Indian Mystics and Indian Saints wrote about the vastness of the universe years ago, and in the same way – astronomers are projecting universe today. Scientists and astronomers work on the facts but saints establish facts by self awareness. I think we have neglected meditation from our daily routine because we are mostly influenced by the materialistic accomplishment and in this pace; we have forgotten our inner world completely. The term ‘enlightenment’ has broad sense whose essence can only be felt not discussed with words. Those trillion of universe can be seen through my inner eyes if not through the telescope & I believe that!!
Very nice ji….
