PARANORMAL EXPERIENCES I

People who surrender their former religious beliefs have got to be some of the smartest and bravest people in the world, because they set out to find the truth even while under the threat of ‘eternal damnations’’.

Parascience deals with the subjects that are not within the scope of traditional sciences. The reason behind the fact is that Parascience cannot be explained or accepted according to the existing scientific theories. Paranormal activities have no scientific explanation but these are extremely common experiences among us. It is not very uncommon that we come across some or the other kinds of paranormal activities. It might happen to us or to someone we know who share us their stories. There are many who do not believe in these paranormal activities till the time it had happened to them. The following experiences will certainly prove the existence of paranormal activities.

Ritam Chattopadhyay (Shantipur, West Bengal)

I never used to believe in any kinds paranormal activities until this experience of mine. I heard a lot of paranormal experiences from my friends and relatives but I was least interested in it. The experience that I had at my ancestral home at Shantipur located in the Nadia district of West Bengal made me believe that paranormal activities do exist. It was in the month of December 2012 when I with my family visited our ancestral house to stay with my grandmother. She lives there alone and we decided to spend our winter vacation with her. We reached home early in the morning at 7 am and my grandmother was thrilled to see all of us together. We spent a great day with her enjoying every bit of it. We completed our dinner at around 10 pm and then went to sleep. The sleeping positions are important here. I slept with my brother in a room, my mom & dad in another room and my grandmother slept in her room alone which she is used to after the death of my grandfather two years back.

It was around 12’O Clock at night when all the paranormal activities started off. I was asleep but suddenly awakened by a noise. I could not recognise the noise and could not even understand about its source as well. But what kept me awake is the repetitive nature of the sound. I thought someone was going to the toilet because sound that came was very similar to that sort. That was what I could make out. But the thing that kept me thinking was nothing but the repetition. I thought why someone is going to the toilet repetitively? Now, I could not control my curiosity and woke up from the bed and got down. I checked that my brother was fast asleep and so as all the other members. Everyone was sleeping but the sound was still coming came. I went to the bathroom through the corridor and checked everything was perfect; nothing to doubt. I thought it was my hallucination so did not pay attention to it. Just as I returned to my bed and turned off the light, the sound began again. I simply had no idea what to do but I could not control my curiosity.

I thought of calling my brother but then I changed my mind and went to the bathroom again. I saw that it was locked from inside and hence I was sure that someone was in the bathroom. So, I was relieved as I found out the source of sound. Then I went to drink some water and to my great surprise, I saw everyone was sleeping. Both the room of my parents and grandmother could be clearly seen from the place where I was drinking water. I was just awestruck and did not know what to do? I ran to the corridor and turned on the lights. I could still hear sound of water from the bathroom but again to my surprise, I saw that the bathroom was locked from outside this time. Without thinking I just opened the door of the bathroom and saw everything was perfectly dry without even a trace of a single drop of water. My brain had no explanation to give me and I had a feeling that something was wrong. I just went to my bed and tried to sleep. When I woke up next morning, I asked everyone almost ten times each whether they went to the bathroom at night but each time the answer was no from all. Ultimately, I came to the conclusion that this is what is called a paranormal activity and even till this day, the paranormal experience gives me shivers.

Subho Chakraborty and Bristi Chakraborty ( Itachuna Rajbari, Khanyan, West Bengal)

I am an ardent believer of paranormal activities but my husband Subho does not believe in these activities at all. But after the experience we had at Itachuna Rajbari, even he started to believe in these paranormal activities. We have a very busy schedule throughout the week and we hardly get time to spend together. This is the reason we planned for a weekend gateway at Itachuna Rajbari in August previous year. We have heard a lot about Itachuna Rajbari from our friends and relatives. This is one of such mansions which has connections with history and has been revamped into a hotel for public visit. Most importantly, this is the same palace which was shown in the Bollywood movie Lootera. So, we were more interested to visit the mansion.

We drove to Itachuna Rajbari and reached around 10 am on Saturday morning. We were simply mesmerized by the beauty and architecture of the mansion. We checked in and freshened ourselves. After breakfast, our guide showed the whole mansion to us detailing about its history and we had a great time. After lunch we went out to visit some nearby places and returned before sunset. Then we had our tea and spend quality time together. At around 9.30 pm, dinner was served in room and we enjoyed it. While having our dinner, we heard sounds of many people enjoying themselves in a room close to ours. We could hear music and we thought there was some party going on. Out of curiosity, I called a waiter and asked if there was a party going on. The waiter replied “No one is there, good night” and then he went away. I was a bit surprised with that answer because I and my husband could clearly hear the sounds of music, television and several people.

After the waiter went away, we decided to look into the matter. Our motive was to be a part of the party if possible because since we came here to enjoy. Once the clock struck twelve, the noise was even louder. We could not resist ourselves any more. We slowly stepped out of our room and reached the door of the large room where the noise was coming from. It seemed that the door was locked from inside and so we knocked. To our surprise, the door was open. We pushed the door and went in to get one of the biggest shocks of our life. The noise vanished at the moment we pushed the door and there was not a single person in the room. We exchanged glances and simply ran back to our room without uttering a word. I was so scared that I could neither sleep nor speak throughout the night. In the morning, I asked my husband about the incident whether he could make out anything. He smiled and replied “Now I believe in paranormal activities”. It is about almost a year now but we still remember each and every moment of the paranormal experience that we had at Itachuna Rajbari.

I am nor religious and so if I do not believe in god how could I believe in eternal Damnations aside from the fact I too had some paranormal experiences in my life.I used to be very very afraid of such a supernatural things but now I am brave as a lion because I came to learn the fact that these are not paranormal activities, they are just the imaginations of our mind.
